Hamilton County school board hopefuls pick up papers

Three people have so far expressed interest in running for the District 2 seat on the Hamilton County Board of Education.

Signal Mountain dentist Jonathan Welch and former Thrasher Elementary School Principal Jean Trohanis have picked up papers from the Hamilton County Election Commission.

Current board member Chip Baker also has picked up papers for the race.

In the District 7 race, Ralph Miller has picked up papers to challenge incumbent board member Linda Mosley.

Current District 1 representative Rhonda Thurman and District 4 board member George Ricks also have gotten their papers for re-election bids.

Candidates have until April 5 to qualify for the August election.
