Amateur radio class will begin Tuesday

If you are looking to add one more tool to your disaster preparedness kit, the Collegedale Amateur Radio Club is offering classes on how to operate an amateur radio.

Amateur radio gets through when all else fails (even cell phones).

The class is being taught by Dean Saunders (AA4XL) over the next six Tuesday evenings at 7 at the McDonald Road Seventh-day Adventist church, 5440 McDonald Road.

The registration fee is $5, the textbook paper edition is $12 or Kindle edition is $8. The FCC testing at the end of the course is $15.

For registration information, email Jim Hoffer (KW8T) at kw8tjim@catt.com or call him at 706-965-2425. There will be a small charge for registration and textbooks.
