Vapors from meth manufacture spread throughout hotel

Two people will be charged after fumes from their meth lab spread through the ventilation system of a Cleveland hotel on Sunday, the Bradley County Sheriff says.

Officers found one "basic" shake and bake lab, said sheriff's spokesman Bob Gault. Vapors from the lab are believed to have reached several other guests at the Holiday Motel on South Lee Highway.

"Other rooms shared the ventilation system," Gault said, "Individuals in other rooms felt effects of the lab."

He said about a dozen people in 10 or 11 rooms were moved across the property, and their rooms were quarantined, though none requested emergency medical attention.

The accused manufacturers' names have not been released, and it is currently unknown what charges they will ultimately face.

The sheriff's office was joined in the raid by the 10th Judicial Drug Task Force and the Tennessee Meth Task Force.
