Among Tennessee's 10 metropolitan areas, the biggest year-over-year sales gains during the Christmas holidays in December were in:
1 Cleveland, up 14.1 percent
2 Morristown, up 13.3 percent
3 Knoxville, up 8.4 percent
4 Clarksville, up 8.1 percent
5 Nashville, up 8 percent

Tennessee sales in December averaged 7.4 percent above the year-ago level
Metropolitan Chattanooga sales in December were up 6.9 percent above a year ago.
