Robbery attempted at East Ridge Bi-Lo

East Ridge police are looking for leads as they investigate an attempted robbery at a Bi-Lo grocery store.

Police say three men entered the Ringgold Road store around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, wearing masks and demanding money, according to police spokesman Erik Hopkins.

The men fled without taking any cash, Hopkins said.

Witnesses described the suspects as three black men in their early 20s, said Hopkins. Another witness told police that a light blue Ford Expedition with chrome wheels left the area at a high rate of speed shortly after the robbery attempt, Hopkins said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the East Ridge Police Department at 867-3718. A confidential tip line is also available at 867-0016.
