Chattanooga Waffle House robbed at gunpoint

Two armed suspects robbed a Waffle House on Highway 58 early this morning.

Chattanooga Police were called to 4343 Highway 58 around 3 a.m. after two armed men entered the restaurant and made all of the employees get on the floor, according to Chattanooga Police spokesman Sgt. Jerri Weary.

One of the suspects demanded money from the register while the other kept the employees at gunpoint, Weary said.

The suspect who was after the money also attempted to get money from the store safe but realized that it couldn't be opened. The suspect then decided to take the lock box near the register instead, said Weary.

It's unknown exactly how much money they were able to escape with, Weary said.

No one was injured during the robbery and police are waiting to review surveillance video to establish suspect leads in the case.

Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact the Chattanooga Police Department at 423-698-2525.
