A federal grand jury in Knoxville indicted a Dunlap, Tenn., man on 38 counts of receiving child pornography on Wednesday, authorities said.

Euell Kenneth Cox Jr., 47, appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge William Cater today and pleaded not guilty to the charges, according to the Department of Justice Eastern District of Tennessee's spokeswoman Sharry Dedman-Beard.

Trial was set for March 13 in U.S. District Court in Chattanooga, Dedman-Beard said in a news release.

If convicted, Cox faces a minimum of five years and up to 20 years in prison per count, a fine of up to $250,000 and at least five years and up to life of supervised release, according the release.

Cox's case was first investigated by the local, state and federal police as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to stop child sexual exploitation, Dedman-Beard said.
