The third River City Co.'s urban design challenge is set 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Bessie Smith Hall where planners will outline possible ways to better use the Patten Parkway corridor, which links Georgia Avenue to Lindsay Street. "This is a great time to explore the untapped potential of the Patten Parkway area," said Kim White, River City president.

Urban design challenges have already taken on the city's 700 Block and Civic Forum, with local multidiscipline design teams offering proposals.

The remaining projects include the Fourth Street corridor from U.S. 27 to Market Street, the Vine Street corridor from Georgia Avenue to UTC, and the Southside block bounded by Main, 13th, Broad and Chestnut streets.
