Chattanooga police responded Tuesday to 2505 Oak St. on a call of shots fired, according to spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary.
An off-duty officer was working in the area of 2400 McCallie Ave. about 5:30 p.m. when he overheard a loud argument and saw a man with an assault rifle, Weary said.
He also observed a suspect vehicle pull away from the residence while firing at the occupants, Weary said.
Officers have detained several individuals at the home and located several shell casing in the immediate area, Weary said.
No arrests have been made in the case and no shooting victims have been located, Weary said.
