A body found this afternoon in a boarded-up house on Ocoee Street could be that of Erika Whaley, who went missing in September, Chattanooga police said.
Whaley, 25, was last seen Sept. 15 getting into a red truck outside a women's shelter, police said.
Police spokesman Nathan Hartwig said the body was found at 2822 Ocoee St., which had belonged to Whaley's grandfather before he died. The house had been boarded up since March 2011, Hartwig said.
The confirmation of identity and the cause of death will be released later, police said.
