A Monteagle, Tenn., man was killed in a single-vehicle crash today in Marion County.

Daniel Fox, 37, was traveling west on Interstate 24 at 7:15 a.m. CST today when he veered off the left side of the road and hit the rock wall of Monteagle Mountain, according to the Tennessee motor vehicle fatality report.

Fox was pronounced dead at the scene and was not wearing his seat belt, according to the report. However, the investigating officer reported that he didn’t think that safety restraints would have made a difference.
