Starnes new director of Scenic City Chorale

Ron Starnes has been appointed the new director of the Scenic City Chorale, according to Bill Long, retiring director of the chorale.

The new director has an extensive background in choral and instrumental music. A retired music educator in Chattanooga public schools, he is director of music at Brainerd United Methodist Church. He is a member and assistant director of the MidSouth Band and is a former director of the Chattanooga Boys Choir.

Long said that the chorale has grown from a dozen members to more than 60 singers and produces several concerts per year under the sponsorship of Alexian Brothers Senior Neighbors.
