KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Jarnell Stokes had 16 points and 12 rebounds in his first start, and Tennessee hit 7 of 10 free throws in the final minute to hold off No. 13 Connecticut 60-57 on Saturday.

The Volunteers (9-10) led by as many as 10 points and had a 55-48 lead when UConn's Jeremy Lamb hit a 3-pointer to cut the margin to four with 37 seconds left. Lamb then fouled Trae Golden, who hit one of his two free throws before Shabazz Napier hit a 3 to cut the Vols' lead to 56-54 with 23 seconds to go.

Niels Giffey fouled Tennessee's Skylar McBee, who hit both free throws to seal it.

Stokes, who played in his third game after graduating high school in December, scored six points during a 2-minute stretch to help the Vols build their lead in the second half.
