Mayor Ron Littlefield, along with members of a gang task force, will hold a news conference at 2 p.m. Monday to talk about gang initiatives that could change state law.
Chattanooga's legislative agenda for 2012 will include two new bills targeting gang activity, a news release stated.
The first proposed change would amend the Tennessee Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations statute, extending it to criminal gang activity.
The second change would be to add an additional felony for a gang member engaged in gang activity while committing a felony.
The news conference will be held at Chattanooga City Hall on 11th Street.
