With all the challenges in our world today, it is not of earth-shaking importance that Iran has targeted Barbie dolls, which are popular with Iranian as well as American girls.
Barbie dolls are officially banned in radical Muslim-led Iran as immodest "manifestations of Western culture." Police shut down dozens of toy stores recently as part of a crackdown.
But government-approved Iranian dolls Dara and Sara just aren't as popular, and unapproved Barbie sales have continued.
Silly and extreme as the Barbie ban may be, we wish that -- rather than Iran's development of nuclear weapons -- was our biggest problem with that country.
