Don't give the keys to Newt Gingrich

I am someone who agrees and looks at life from the right side of matters. However, from the left, no better presentation could have been made about Newt Gingrich and who he really is, other than stating flat out -- it is "all about Newt."

Talk about a history, that man has a history, and not one to be proud of. I surely cannot throw the first stone. However, I am not trying to be the leader of our country.

If you think things are bad now, just wait till you hand the keys to dear ole Newt.

We can be forgiven, but where is the repentance?

Bennett has no peer in area of distortion

The Times-Free Press now has announced an upcoming contest in which readers will be given the opportunity to provide the caption to one of Clay Bennett's upcoming cartoons. The question has been asked, "Are you as clever as Clay?" Whereas I do not offer myself as such an example, I am sure there are others in the Chattanooga area whose wit at least exceeds his. Certainly Bennett is not the only bright light of cleverness shining in Chattanooga.

Another question could be asked, "Can you draw cartoons as well as Clay?" Again, I am sure there are artists here whose skill far exceeds Bennett's banal and inane artistic style.

On the other hand, as to the question, "Are you as partisan as Clay?," the answer is an overwhelming and resounding "no." There is no one to compare with Bennett as a mouthpiece of propaganda offering continually a one-sided, blatantly distorted and extremely partisan view of the political scene. In that regard Bennett stands alone with no peers at all.

Obama greatest food-stamp leader

Fact, not "lie": Mr Obama is indeed "the greatest food-stamp president in American history," for as the Times (Jan. 19) knows and even admits, more people are on food stamps now than ever before.

As for the meaning of the fact, where Mr. Gingrich speaks of people, the Times inserts "(black)." How "racially divisive" of you liberals! Paul Krugman, Maureen Dowd and Satan would be proud of you.

And while president Obama hasn't pushed food stamps in particular, he is trying to give the D.C. bureaucratic 1 percent more control over health care and insurance for us 99 percent. He does promote dependency. Solyndra needed his regime's help; so did the fast and furious drug cartels.

Stimulus? Making independents pay for dependency jobs with borrowed money, despite the failure of president Bush's deficits to stimulate.

Try Gingrich or Santorum or Ron Paul.
