Students and faculty of Silverdale Baptist Academy gathered for a prayer vigil Friday night after a senior was killed in a car wreck that afternoon, according to a school announcement.

Tony Baughman was in the car with another Silverdale student when the vehicle wrecked in near the Georgia-Tennessee state line on I-75, according to Georgia State Patrol.

Dispatchers said the wreck involved just one car, and occurred in Catoosa County around 4:30 p.m.

Baughman was killed while the other student suffered minor injuries, according to the school’s Facebook page.

On the webpage, comments expressing condolences and prayers poured in throughout Friday night.
