Chattanooga Lookouts compete sweep of Mississippi Braves

PEARL, Miss. -- The Chattanooga Lookouts completed a series sweep against the Mississippi Braves with an 8-5 Southern League baseball win Saturday night.

Nick Buss hit a two-run double and Pedro Baez and Rafael Ynoa had RBI singles as Chattanooga used a four-run eighth inning to turn a 5-4 deficit into the 8-5 lead. The Lookouts improved to 7-3 in the league's second half.

J.T. Wise and Griff Erickson hit RBI singles to center field in the first inning to put Chattanooga up 2-0, but Mississippi took a 3-2 lead later in the first on Christian Bethancourt's bases-loaded triple to left. Blake Smith opened the third inning with a home run to right to tie the game, and the Lookouts went back ahead 4-3 in the fourth when Aaron Miller tripled to center and scored on Ynoa's sacrifice to center.

Game one of a three-game home series for Chattanooga against Tennessee at AT&T Field is today at 5:15. Chris Reed (0-0, 1.50 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts, with Nick Struck (9-6, 3.74) scheduled for the Smokies.
