Fuel prices continue drop in Chattanooga area

Holiday motorists are enjoying the cheapest prices at the pump in Chattanooga in more than two years.

The average price of a gallon of regular gas fell Tuesday to just over $2.95 a gallon in Chattanooga, nearly 25 cents below a month ago and 35 cents a gallon less than what motorists paid a year ago, according to AAA Fuel Gauge surveys of area service stations. Gas prices in Chattanooga averaged 36 cents a gallon less than the U.S. average, according to AAA.
