University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's golfer Mette Kryger advanced to the semifinals of the Danish Match Play at Rungsted Golf Club. She beat Camilla Faaborg-Anderson 3 and 1 in the opening round and No. 5 seed Malene Krolboll 3 and 1 in the next round. Kryger beat Emily Pederson 4 and 2 in the quarterfinals.

Denmark's Nicole Broch Larsen, who is No. 27 in the R&A world amateur golf rankings, beat Kryger 1 up.

Rebne alternate for Senior Open

Richard Rebne, head professional at Council Fire Golf Club, is the second alternate from the Nashville qualifier for this year's U.S. Senior Open. Rebne shot a 1-over-par 73 at Hillwood Country Club and finished third in a three-for-one playoff.

English now 73rd in FedEx standings

Harris English, who played at Baylor and Georgia, is No. 73 in the FedEx Cup standings. The top 125 at the end of the year get into at least the first of four playoff events. English has earned $845,236, which ranks him No. 70 on the money list. Blake Adams, who played two years at Dalton, is No. 88 in the FedEx Cup standings and No. 96 on the money list.

List now third in Web.com pay

Former Baylor School golfer Luke List is No. 3 on the Web.com Tour (formerly Nationwide Tour) money list with $236,313 in earnings this year. He is less than $8,000 from No. 1 Paul Haley. Memphis' Casey Wittenberg is No. 2 with $240,019 in earnings and two wins.

Hodge, Rende in Hooters' top 30

Former UTC golfer Jonathan Hodge, who now lives in Jasper, is No. 17 on the NGA Hooters Tour money list with $22,400 in earnings. His UTC teammate and former Soddy-Daisy golfer Derek Rende is No. 29 with $18,151 in earnings. Paul Apyan of Hixson is No. 72, and Athens native Eric Axley is No. 84.

Area aces

Tom Schreiner scored his sixth ace but first in 15 years last Friday at Nob North. He aced No. 12 from 167 yards with a 7-iron while playing with Bruce Martin, Mark Booth and son Micah Schreiner.

Pat Sugrue of Ooltewah scored his third hole-in-one Tuesday at Bear Trace at Harrison Bay. He aced No. 4 from 120 yards with a pitching wedge while playing with Tom Baker, Bob Smith and Bob Carney.
