Leads needed in credit card theft

Bradley County Sheriff's Office officials are asking for help in identifying two men caught on surveillance making purchases with stolen credit cards.

An investigation was launched June 17 into the theft of a wallet containing several credit cards and cash from an unsecured vehicle parked at the owner's residence on Brownwood Drive.

The investigation showed that the cards were used about 7 a.m. at the Brainerd and Gunbarrel Road Walmart stores in addition to several other locations in Chattanooga, the news release said. The two men charged over $1,000 in merchandise to the cards.

Surveillance shows the two, one wearing a striped red-and-white shirt with navy blue shorts, and the other wearing a white shirt, plaid shorts and a plaid baseball cap. Anyone with information is asked to call the Bradley County Sheriff's Office at 423-728-7336.

Standoff ends in assault charges

A man was arrested on aggravated assault charges after barricading himself in a Chattanooga home for almost three hours.

Chattanooga police arrived at 3205 Bonair Circle just after noon Thursday to serve a warrant to 35-year-old Senneca Harris. When authorities arrived, Harris was barricaded inside, according to a news release.

Chattanooga Police SWAT and hostage negotiations team were called to the location since it was unknown if Harris had any weapons. Just after 3 p.m., negotiators talked Harris into giving up, the news release said. He was taken into custody without incident. No weapons were found inside the residence, the news release said.
