HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Hours after being named the Southern League player of the month for June, Huntsville first baseman Hunter Morris went 3-for-4 to lead the Stars to a second win over Chattanooga in three games, 4-2.
Morris, the Southeastern Conference MVP in 2010 after hitting .386 with 23 home runs as an Auburn junior, homered to right field in the sixth inning to put Huntsville ahead to stay at 3-2. The Lookouts (10-6) had taken a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning when Rafael Ynoa's two-out single to center scored Matt Wallach.
Game one of the Lookouts' three-game series against the Tennessee Smokies is tonight at 6:15 at Kodak. Allen Webster (3-8, 4.40 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts, with Dae-Eun Rhee (5-4, 5.46) scheduled for the Smokies.
