Chattanooga police reported Sunday morning that a crash Saturday afternoon on Shallowford Road took a woman’s life.
According to Sgt. Wayne Jefferson’s news release, Myra Eaker, 74, was killed when her Buick was struck by a Nissan Titan around 2:30 p.m. at 6500 Shallowford Road
The release said the Titan’s driver, Roman York, was speeding and driving west in the wrong lane. The Titan clipped one eastbound vehicle and hit Eaker’s head-on.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. Others involved in the crash were taken to the hospital but none had life-threatening injuries, Jefferson said.
He said criminal charges may be filed against York, 33, pending blood test results.
