Most Volunteer Energy Cooperative customers have had their power restored after Thursday's storms knocked out service in Southeast Tennessee.
VEC officials say that all outages in the Bradley-Hamilton area have been restored. The bulk of the remaining 149 outages are in Polk County, where 112 customers remain without power.
Crews expect to have power restored to these customers later Monday, according to a news release.
VEC Vice President of Operations Clyde Jolley said some outages last longer due to damage at a customer's homes that prevents VEC from safely restoring power.
A second storm passed through Fentress and Cumberland counties Sunday night, knocking out power to about 2,100 customers beginning at 11:30 p.m. Sunday. As of 9:16 a.m. today power had been restored to all except 46 of those customers.
Crews expect to have power restored to those remaining customers this morning.
