Man takes infant son along during rendezvous with prostitute

Tuscaloosa County authorities say a man may be charged with child endangerment after taking along his 9-month-old son during a rendezvous with a prostitute.

Capt. Loyd Baker says a 29-year-old man took the baby with him after contacting a woman through a website and agreeing to meet her at a motel in Tuscaloosa on Sunday. The man told investigators he took the child because he didn't have anyone to baby-sit.

The Tuscaloosa News reported that a scuffle broke out over money after another man entered the motel room. A gunshot grazed the father's head, so he grabbed the baby and ran into the bathroom.

Welfare workers had custody of the child Monday.
