The Chattanooga Times Free Press won five first-place awards in the Tennessee State Press contest today.

The newspaper won five third-place awards for:

Best Single Feature

Editorials

Public Service

Make up and Appearance

Sports Writing

The contest was sponsored by the Tennessee Press Association and the University of Tennessee.

The Texas State Press Association judged the contest, which contained more than 1400 entries.
