NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Metro Public Health Department is looking into complaints that a woman received more than 200 bedbug bites during a one-night stay at a Nashville hotel.

Sue Silverstein told The Tennessean (http://tnne.ws/MpThvw ) that she was in town for a music merchants convention and was staying at the Howard Johnson hotel on Brick Church Pike.

She said she woke up with 200 bright red, itchy bites covering her body.

Hotel owner Sam Patel said in an email statement that upon notice from the guest, they stopped using the room and have brought in experts to examine and clean the room.

Health inspector Clint Johnson said he inspected the room and found one bedbug, but said they are hard to find so there is an assumption that there are more.
