Ringgold rising senior Brooks Thomas will begin the first of two stroke-play rounds at the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship today at the Golf Club of New England in Stratham, N.H. Also, Baylor School teammates Blakesly Warren and Lauren Johnson will begin play at the U.S. Girls' Junior Championship at Lake Merced Golf Club in Daly City, Calif. Each competition will have two rounds of stroke play to determine the field of 64 for match play.

• ROSWELL, Ga. - Defending champion David Noll Jr. of Dalton shot a 69 Sunday to challenge for the lead before finishing second with a 72-hole total of 283 in the 91st annual Georgia Amateur Championship at Ansley Golf Club-Settindown Creek. Lee Knox of Augusta won with a single stroke at 282. Calhoun's Chad Wilson and Rocky Face's Will Snipes wound up tied for 11th and tied for 27th at 292 and 296, and Ringgold's Hunter Cornelius Jr. finished at 297.
