LISA DENTON: Barry, if it wouldn't hurt your standing in the He Man Club, you might want to get your ticket for She: An Expo for Women, coming up this weekend at the Chattanooga Convention Center.
We should mention, of course, that She is sponsored by the Times Free Press, and it's all about making women happy — a concept I fully support.
If only the men in our lives had such keen insight. By "our," I mean "women." Not trying to out you there.
BARRY COURTER: I too am all about making women happy. I fail miserably, of course, but it is a daily goal. I was thinking of spending the week either watching "Magic Mike," reading "50 Shades of Grey" or cleaning the house.
LISA: Now you're talking our language. I'd like to see a man loose with a vacuum cleaner in my house. They say nature abhors a vacuum, and from the looks of my floors, so do I.
BARRY: I've also got it on my calendar that Aaron Tippin is at Redoubt Soccer Fields for a fundraiser for the Redoubt Soccer Association on Friday, and Charlie Daniels is at Lake Winnepesaukah on Sunday. And Liberty Con, the sci-fi and fantasy convention, is at the Choo Choo this weekend.
It'd be an interesting experiment to wear a "Mike" T-shirt and walk through any one of those events carrying a copy of "50 Shades."
LISA: The CDB on the Jukebox Junction Stage sounds like a coup for Lake Winnie. Charlie Daniels actually made the Encyclopedia of Southern Culture for his contributions to not just music but Southern culture in general.
I would get me one of those "bullrider" hats like his to wear to the show. But I reckon I'd block somebody's view and maybe my own if I couldn't get it to stay put on my noggin. From the looks of them, those hats don't come in "small."
BARRY: It's a big hat. It's funny. And I can't imagine anything much funnier than you in a big CDB hat. It'd be like Sid & Marty Krofft take "Lidsville" to Nashville.
LISA: I'd look like a mushroom.
BARRY: Or a hat with shoes.
LISA: It'd be even better if we could get Giuliana Rancic in one of those hats, but she's in town for She on Saturday so their days here don't overlap. I don't think we'll ever see Giuliana channeling Charlie on "Fashion Police."
BARRY: Reckon not. Charlie has his own style.
