Marquis Green

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga running back Marquis Green sat down with the Times Free Press to answer 10 questions. As a true freshman last season, Green rushed for a team-high 530 yards and made the Southern Conference All-Freshman team. Here are his seven most interesting responses:

1. What's the most memorable moment of your athletic career?

"Actually, it's when I dropped the kickoff return against Nebraska. I'll never forget that. It kind of sticks in there. It was my first time out there and I couldn't really believe it."

2. Where do you see yourself or hope to be in 10 years?

"Either working in a lab somewhere making some medicine, maybe, or training athletes."

3. If you could have only one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

"The oxtails, sweet potatoes and rice from my mom. That's what I'd take every day. Oxtails is something you have to try for yourself -- I can't explain to you what it tastes like. But it's the best meat ever."

4. What part of playing college football has been the biggest surprise?

"Camp was the biggest surprise. That camp last summer, I had no idea it was going to be the way it was. I just jumped in headfirst. My dad dropped me off and the next you know we were rolling into practice every day. I did not know it was going to be like that, but I got through it."

5. What athlete do you admire most?

"[Buffalo Bills running back] C.J. Spiller. He was just phenomenal in college [at Clemson], and I just love the way he runs. I always just loved him. He's got speed and everything, and I want to be just like him."

6. What's your favorite sports movie?

"That would be 'Remember the Titans.' With the adversity they faced and how they all came together as a team, I really liked that."

7. If you had to be stranded on a desert island with two teammates, who would they be and why?

"My roommate Tommy [Hudson] and probably Taharin [Tyson]. Tommy is really smart and Taharin is more of a country guy, so he knows about the outdoors life, the adventurous life. [Tyson] can probably get a fire started."
