NASHVILLE -- Former state Rep. Chris Clem, a local attorney, has been appointed to the Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission, according to a news release.
"Chris has spent a career both in and out of the Legislature highly engaged in judicial issues. I can think of no one more qualified to evaluate the judiciary than my friend, Chris," from Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey said in a news release.
Clem represented House District 27 from 2000 to 2006. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and practices at Samples, Jennings, Ray & Clem. He also is a certified public accountant.
The Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission uses surveys, interviews and other information to review the performance of appellate judges. The reviews are used as the basis for recommendations to retain or replace appellate judges on the bench, the release stated.
