ERMC names VPs, legal officer

ERMC, a national total facility management company based in Chattanooga, has four new vice presidents and a chief legal officer.

Jeff Hollis was appointed vice president of information technology. Hollis joined ERMC in 2000 as a systems administrator.

Kathryn Elleman was chosen as vice president of ASR, a division of ERMC offering embroidery and logo apparel on Ringgold Road in East Ridge.

Stephanie Hall was picked as vice president of the Legal Department. She was originally named assistant general counsel for ERMC in 2009.

Terry Higdon was appointed vice president of security solutions. He has over 20 years of combined law enforcement and security management experience.

Estes Cocke was named chief legal officer and manages the corporate legal department and supervises the risk and licensing departments.

Komatsu promotes four new managers

Komatsu America Corp. has named several promotions in Chattanooga.

Bill Chimley has been promoted to general manager of the Supply Chain Division. He will share management duties of the division with Mac Murayama.

Eric Finch has been has been promoted to senior manager of supply chain planning of the division. He will support the supply chain planning for imported as well as locally produced machines and attachments.

Tanya Smith has been promoted to import procurement manager for the division. She will lead the import planning group.

Daphyne Woodard-Cooley has been promoted to manager of customer support for the division. She will oversee the customer support group.


Manley named PlayCore executive

PlayCore has named Joni Manley as vice president of finance and accounting.

She joins PlayCore after 24 years at Beaulieu, where she worked in key finance roles. She has a strong business unit and financial management background as well as corporate financial management oversight.

Manley was a key player on several Beaulieu acquisitions.


Victory Sign promotes four

Victory Sign Industries Ltd. in Fort Oglethorpe has recently made several personnel moves.

Richard Paryse, who has served as company president since his purchase of the business in 1988, will become chairman of the board.

Courtney Cross has joined Victory Sign as its national accounts manager. Cross will handle new national customer development, marketing and social media strategies.

James Paryse, who joined Victory in 2007 as vice president of operations, has been promoted to chief operations officer.

Lynn E. Latimer has been appointed as chief financial officer. She has served as vice president of finance and administration.


Williams joins Jackson Hewitt

D. Michael WIlliams, a former vice president of marketing for the Chattanooga-based Krystal Co., has been named senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc. in Nashville.

Phillip Sanford, a former Krystal CEO, is now head of Jackson Hewitt, the nation's second largest tax preparation firm.

"Mike's extensive experience in senior marketing positions in franchise businesses, and his record of success in brand positioning, market segmentation, creative and marketing resource allocation, will be a significant contributor to the achievement of our goal to attract new clients, retain existing clients and enhance our market share," Sanford said.

Williams also previously served in top management posts with Steak 'n Shake, Direct General Corp., Wendy's International and LensCrafters. Previously, Williams was a senior consultant with Andersen Consulting, a unit of Arthur Andersen & Co. LLP.


Kohrt is top pediatrician

Dr. Alan Kohrt, medical director of the Children's Hospital at Erlanger, has been recognized as Pediatrician of the Year by the Tennessee Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (TNAAP).

The TNAAP Annual Awards honors Pediatricians and community members who have made exceptional contributions to child health and child health advocacy in Tennessee. The event also serves as a benefit for the Tennessee Pediatric Society Foundation.


Local Franchise Earns Top Award

Little Caesar Pizza franchisees, Tom and Karol Getz, won the 2011 President's Award at the recent Little Caesars Awards Banquet in Orlando, Fla. The Getzes own and operate 14 restaurants in the Atlanta and Chattanooga markets.


CNE names 4 new directors

Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprises has added four new board members to help oversee the nonprofit's mission to promote livable neighborhoods in the Chattanooga area.

Chattanooga lawyer Peter Murphy is a member of the Chattanooga City Council, where he chairs the Legal and Legislative Committee. In addition to CNE, Murphy serves on the boards of the Chattanooga Track Club and the Industrial Development Board of Hamilton County and is an arbitrator on the Chattanooga Bar Association's Fee Dispute panel.

T. Ralph Woodard, Jr. is vice president, controller and chief accounting officer for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and chief financial officer for six subsidiary companies. Prior to joining BlueCross in 2001, Woodard held positions at Arthur Andersen, Willis Group and Southeast Community Capital, respectively.

Sumner McCallie is dean of residential life at McCallie School and previously taught at Hume Fogg High School, McMurray Middle School and the Leysin American School in Switzerland.

John Bridger is executive director of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional Planning Agency. Prior to his current position, Bridger was evaluation and program director at Community Impact of Chattanooga.


Poole gets certification

Travis R. Poole, a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual in Chattanooga, has received financial planner certification.

He was certified by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc.

Poole is certified as having met rigorous experience and ethical requirements and successfully completed financial planning course work. He also passed the CFP certification examination.


Kiwanis honor given to Chambers

Sandy B. Chambers was awarded the Legion of Honor from Kiwanis International at its recent convention.

She was presented with the award by International President Alan Penn for 25 years of service and as one of the first women to join Kiwanis.

Chambers is president of the Kiwanis Club of Chattanooga. She is a financial advisor with Classic Wealth Advisory of Raymond James in Chattanooga.


Advisors Brown, Tindall cited

Two Chattanooga-based financial advisors were recognized for their outstanding performance and client service by Morgan Keegan & Co., a subsidiary of Raymond James Financial Inc.

Mike Brown, a financial advisor and a managing director, was named a member of the firm's 2011 Chairman's Club.

Todd Tindall, a financial advisor and senior vice president, was named a member of the firm's 2011 President's Club.

Morgan Keegan Chairman's and President's Clubs are two of the firm's highest honors given to financial advisors recognizing their accomplishments and service to their clients over the calendar year. Brown, who teams with his wife Debbie Clifford Brown to focus on retirement planning, tax advantaged investing and investment management, joined Morgan Keegan in 2005. Tindall has 20 years of experience in the financial industry.


ACA Beacon promotes three

ACA Beacon Verification Services recently announced several promotions, according to Partner Justin Guthrie.

Bobby Ankar was appointed as verification manager. Ankar joined ACA in 2007 and currently works out of ACA's New York office.

Sara Kirkland and Erika Roess were chosen as senior verification associates. Kirkland works from the Chattanooga office with bank loan and alternative asset managers. Roess deals primarily with alternative and hedge fund clients.


East chosen as staff accountant

Danielle East has been named as staff accountant at Chattanooga-based accounting firm Johnson, Hickey & Murchison PC.

East, a native of Chapel Hill, Tenn., is a 2011 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she earned a bachelor's degree in accounting. She served as a staff intern at JHM for about six months before receiving the promotion to her new full-time position this summer.

"We're so pleased to hire talented, young graduates who choose to remain in Chattanooga after graduation," said Dean Krech, audit partner at JHM.


Gregory completes piano certification

Sheffey Gregory, owner and principal of Gregory's Piano Service, was recently named a piano life saver system certified installer by the Dampp-Chaser Corp.

Certification is awarded by upon completion of a training and examination process.

He also holds the registered piano tuner designation from the Piano Technicians Guild.


Hobbs named Sandler manager

Jennie Hobbs has been promoted to senior vice president of training and development for the local Sandler Training franchise.

"This promotion is well deserved as Jennie has demonstrated outstanding results, leadership, and professionalism since joining our team," said Dan and Lisa Nausley, owners of Chattanooga-based Sandler Training.

Prior to joining Sandler Training, Hobbs held managerial positions in the field of human resources and training and development at Life Care Centers of America and US Xpress.


Henry earns legal recognition

Attorney Alaric "Al" Henry of the law firm Luther-Anderson PLLP has been selected as a Mid-South Super Lawyer and Mid-South Business Super Lawyer for 2012. This is the 7th consecutive year Henry has been selected to the Mid-South Super Lawyers list.

Mid-South Super Lawyers are selected based on exhibiting excellence in practice and are recognized by their peers.

He has been actively practicing in Tennessee and Georgia for the last 21 years.


Parris Roofing wins award

Parris Roofing & Sheet Metal Co. Inc. in Cleveland, Tenn., was recently presented with the 2012 Firestone Building Products Partner in Quality Award.

The company was among 193 roofing contractors throughout North America honored with the industry achievement.

Firestone presents its Partner in Quality Award to contractors who installed a minimum of four warranted Firestone roofs in each of the past five years, maintained at least 1 million square feet of Firestone roofs under warranty and achieved an annual Quality Incidence Rating of 2.0 or less.
