Rhonda Thurman represents District 1, which includes Sale Creek, Soddy-Daisy and sections of the county north of Red Bank.

Thurman was first elected to the school board in 2004 and is now finishing her second term. Thurman has been self-employed as a hairdresser for more than 35 years.

A graduate of Red Bank High School, Thurman attended Cleveland State Community College and graduated from Highland Beauty Academy.

She lives in the Falling Water area.
