Fred Skillern represents District 1, which includes Sale Creek, Soddy-Daisy and sections of the county north of Red Bank. First appointed to the commission in January 2001, Skillern previously served on the Hamilton County Board of Education for 20 years. He owns Dixie Souvenirs and is an investor in the Chattanooga Choo Choo, Riverplace and other enterprises. Skillern attended Tennessee Technological University for one year and graduated from Soddy-Daisy High School.
