General Sessions Judge David Norton has said publicly that his illness has created problems with his service on the bench and campaigning for the Aug. 2 election.
The judge said in a news release that he had hoped to resolve the non-fatal neurological problems before the election but received recent news that treatment will take longer than previously expected.
"My health setback was very unfortunately timed, but I fully expected that I would be able to return to both the bench and my campaign in short order," Norton wrote.
