Pikeville mayor charged with official misconduct, felony theft

Pikeville Mayor Greg Johnson has been arrested on charges of official misconduct and felony theft in the wake of a monthslong investigation by the state, according to authorities.

Officials in the district attorneys office said Thursday that Johnson has been charged on grand jury indictments with four counts of official misconduct and theft over $60,000.

Johnson turned himself in Wednesday on the charges and was released on $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Bledsoe County Circuit Court on Friday, Bledsoe County officials said.
