Driver seriously injured in 18-wheeler crash on I-75

The driver of a tractor-trailer suffered serious injuries after his truck left the road and crashed into trees along I-75 near Charleston exit 33 about 5 p.m. today.

The 49-year-old man was transported to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga after first being taken to Sky Ridge Medical Center, according to a news release by Bradley County EMS. Authorities have not identified the driver.

The tractor-trailer was transporting a large bulldozer but all of the wreckage was in a wooded area in the middle of the interstate, said Stan Clark, spokesperson for Bradley County EMS.
