Cleveland police reopen 1991 murder case

Cleveland police have reopened the case of a 21-year-old murder in which a man was found shot to death in his home.

Stacy Otto Dillon was found dead on March, 17, 1991 at a home on Fulbright Road, said Officer Evie West in a news release.

The homicide went unsolved, but the case has recently been reopened after evidence was resubmitted to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s crime lab for further processing, West said.

DNA found at the scene has a high probability of belonging to the suspect, West said, and police are hopeful advance DNA technology will help identify the person responsible.

The Cleveland Police Department is asking anyone with information about this case to contact Lt. Mark Gibson with the Special Investigations Unit at 423-559-3397.
