Chattanooga police averaged four arrests per night at Riverbend

Police made 32 arrests, ejected 75 and handled 21 cases of underage drinking at this year’s Riverbend festival.

Nearly half the arrests came on the second day of the festival, headlined by Foreigner, police spokesman Officer Nathan Hartwig said in a news release. A high of 30 people were ejected on Saturday, the final day which featured local singer Lauren Alaina as headliner, he said.

The most peaceful day was Wednesday when The Band Perry headlined.

The release does not list the types of charges on the arrests.

The numbers offered by Chattanooga police only cover arrests made on the Riverbend site so statistics from the Bessie Smith Strut are not included in the numbers, Hartwig said.
