Chattanoogan Danny Fell named ad agency president

Chattanooga advertising executive Danny Fell was tapped Monday as president of Neathawk, Dubuque & Packett, a Richmond, Va.-based ad agency with offices in a half dozen Southern cities and annual billings of more than $35 million.

Fell, a 47-year-old Virginia native, will maintain his home in Chattanooga, where he started Daniel+Douglas+Norcross (ddN) in 1992 and merged the agency with the larger Richmond agency five years ago.

"I will continue to work externally to be part of the public face of the firm and to help develop new business and to speak to industry groups and business meetings," Fell said Monday. "We're making investments to grow our digital marketing, and I'll be looking at acquisition opportunities in the region."

ND&P is based in Richmond but maintains a full-service 15-employee office in Chattanooga, including the former 3HD digital marketing firm acquired locally in 2008. ND&P also has branches in Charlotte and Durham, N.C.; Roanoke, Va.; and Tampa, Fla.

Fell is a 23-year veteran who has specialized in health care marketing after beginning his career as an emergency medical technician and moving to Chattanooga after graduating from Virginia Tech. He said he spends about 150 days a year on the road and will now spend at least one day a month at the firm's headquarters in Richmond.

Fell succeeds Susan Dubuque, who will remain as a principal in the 50-employee firm she helped establish.

"As one of the country's leading health care marketers and a pioneer in interactive marketing and new media, (Danny's) leadership is essential as we accelerate the growth of the agency," Dubuque said in a statement Monday.
