Officials with Blood Assurance are calling for blood donors who have O positive, O negative, A negative and B negative blood types.
Donations to the regional blood center are down due to the normal summer shortages, a news release from Blood Assurance states.
The summer months often mean more accidents and trauma, making the need for blood donations even more critical, according to the news release.
Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with parental consent) and weigh at least 110 pounds, Blood Assurance states.
