While there are constant reminders to "See Rock City," less subtle signs point to the countless wonders that lie beyond this popular attraction perched high atop Lookout Mountain near Chattanooga. Past the mansions beside Point Park, the gardens and the halls of Covenant College, Lookout Mountain Parkway offers a wild ride through northwest Georgia and northeast Alabama.

Just a few minutes down the road from Rock City, people with acrophobia may want to keep a close eye on the road and not on the view to the right. There are no guardrails along this stretch of highway situated hundreds of feet above Lookout Valley.

Houses cling precariously to the side of the mountain. The same is true for one of the first attractions you will find past Rock City. It is hard to miss the giant ramp sloping sharply toward the valley below.
