Police say a Dalton woman killed earlier this week in a crash was driving with three times the legal limit of alcohol in her blood and was speeding.
The 26-year-old driver, Ashleigh Sims, died of a massive head injury when her car ran off the roadway on Chattanooga Road and flipped in a ditch early Sunday morning, said Dalton Police Officer Steve Zahn in a news release.
There were no other passengers in the vehicle.
The accident happened about 2:30 a.m. and Sims was pronounced dead at Erlanger hospital at 9:30 a.m.
