A 44-year-old Chattanooga man was shot in the face today during what seems to have been an attempted robbery, authorities said.

Terry McNabb was shot while at a residence at 909 Curleque Drive in Brainerd, said Officer Nathan Hartwig, spokesman for the Chattanooga Police Department. He was taken to Erlanger hospital for surgery, but the wound is not life-threatening, Hartwig said.

The suspects are described as two black males who were last seen running out of the neighborhood, Hartwig said.

The incident happened about 3:30 p.m. but no further details are being released at this time, he said.
