School closings and delays

LATEST ON AREA STORMSTornado reportedly passed over Signal Mountain, headed for Hixson

Hamilton County Schools: All schools will dismiss one hour early. Buses will run normal routes, though after-school child care and all evening extracurricular activities are cancelled.

Catoosa County Ga. Schools: Elementary schools will get out at 1:30 p.m. while middle and high schools will dismiss at 2:30 p.m.

Sequatchie County Schools: Dismissing around noon (CST). Students remaining at school can be picked up at any time or they can ride the bus after the current wave of storms moves through. "We had planned to run the buses at 12 [CST]. It might be 12:15 or 12:30 [CST] before we run the buses," said Assistant Director of Schools Pete Swafford.

Baylor School: Canceled after school activities, buses will depart at 3:30 p.m.

Bradley County Schools: Dismissing students today between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Bright School: Dismissing at 3:00 p.m. No after school activities.

Cleveland City Schools: Dismissing students today between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Walker County Schools: Dismissing one hour early.

Etowah City Schools: Dismissing at 1:00 p.m.

Grundy County Tenn. Schools: Dismissing at 12:30 CST

Grundy County Tenn. Schools: Dismissing at 12:30 CST

Marion County Tenn. Schools: Dismissing at noon CT

Polk County Tenn. Schools: Dismissing at 1:00 p.m.

Dekalb County Schools: Dismissing at 12:30 p.m. CST

Richard Hardy Memorial School: Dismissing at 12:30 p.m. CT

Cherokee County (North Carolina) Schools: Dismissing at 12:30. Evening events also canceled.
