A murder case against a Ringgold, Ga., man accused of killing a baby 19 years ago was dismissed earlier today.

Prosecutors said the evidence is unreliable.

In 2007, Dale Higgenbottom was charged with murder for the death of an infant who died of head injuries in December 1992. Higgenbottom was 15 at the time of Christopher Breazeale's death and had spent the night at the baby's house.

At the time, Christopher's death was ruled an accident, but 15 years later, prosecutors said they had enough evidence to charge Higgenbottom.

But prosecutors have changed their minds.

"There is insufficient evidence to establish the identity of Christopher Breazeale's killer beyond a reasonable doubt," Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Assistant District Attorney Alan Norton wrote in a petition filed today in Catoosa County Superior Court.

Superior Court Judge Brian House dismissed the case.
