American Tire Distributors, a distributor of replacement tires, plans to invest up to $20 million in a Chattanooga facility.

The center, to go at Enterprise South industrial park, will create about 40 jobs with annual wages averaging $50,000 to the area over a period of three years, the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce said in a press release.

ATD is expected to buy a 9-acre tract across from eSpin on Discovery Drive. The company will submit its proposal to the Hamilton County Commission at a public meeting Thursday at 9:30 a.m.

With 97 distribution centers in 40 states, ATD is a privately held company that serves more than 124,000 tire, wheel and automotive service retailers nationwide.

"Chattanooga has a national reputation for its robust logistics industry, and ATD's decision to locate here only further reinforces our region's growing foothold as a hub for this sector of business," said Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger in a statement.
