Volkswagen of America said today that its Chattanooga facility will host five concerts by the Chattanooga Symphony and Orchestra, starting in September.

The concerts will be held Sundays beginning Sept. 23 in the conference center of the VW Academy next to the automaker's $1 billion assembly plant. The center seats up to 1,000 people.

Hans-Herbert Jagla, executive vice president of human resources for Volkswagen's Chattanooga operations, said he sees the Chattanooga-made Passat as a piece of art.

"It's a symphony of engineering," he said.

Tickets will be priced at $25 for each concert. Volkswagen employees will pay $15, VW officials said.
