Soddy-Daisy resident Katherine Benefield has picked up papers to challenge incumbent Rhonda Thurman, of Hixson, in the August race for the District 1 seat on the Hamilton County Board of Education.
Donna Horn, of Chattanooga, has picked up papers for the District 7 seat, which is held by Chattanoogan Linda Mosley, who also has picked up papers.
In the District 2 race, Signal Mountain resident Jonathan Welch is challenging incumbent Chip Baker, also of Signal. Jean Trohanis had picked up papers for that position but since has withdrawn from the race, records show.
