FRANKLIN — A tech-savvy 8-year-old has helped to crack at least two burglaries in Coffee County and Franklin — and led police right to the suspect’s door.

A thief broke into the Crabtree family’s Manchester home earlier this month, stealing two iPads, a computer and other electronics, and a hedge trimmer.

The family never expected to see their belongings again, but a light bulb went off in 8-year-old Landon Crabtree’s head this week.

In addition to downloading favorites such as Temple Run, Pet Shop Story and Minecraft to his iPad, the third-grader had added a tracking app.
